Biographical Text
Alexander Clitherall Birch was born and raised in Montgomery. Alexander named after his grandfather Alexander Clitherall, who was the private secretary to Jefferson Davis. He practiced law in Birmingham and served two terms as the United States District Attorney in Mobile, Alabama. He married George Weatherly, daughter of James Weatherly, in 1907.
