Acknowledgments and Contacts

This research would not have been possible if it were not for the network of support I have had along this journey.

I would first like to thank Christine Lamberton, Hunter Ingram, and Joy Allen for the chance to do genealogy research on-site at the Burgwin-Wright House and Gardens. It has been a wonderful experience learning about the lives of Eliza and of her descendants. The access to their archives has provided me with answers to my research questions as well as many rabbit holes to explore.

I would also like to thank Dr. Angela Zombek and Dr. Jennifer Le Zotte for their assistance in my practicum. Working full-time while in graduate school has been an intense balancing act. As the Graduate Coordinator and the director of the Graduate Public History Program respectively, Dr. Zombek and Dr. Le Zotte have helped in accomodating my schedule and ensuring my ability to graduate on time.

Finally but not least, I would like to thank Griffin Tordella for his unwaivering love and support throughout my time in graduate school and with my research endeavors. He has kept me grounded through it all.
